Delete your Loopr account
The quickest way is in the app: Delete account removes your account and everything stored under it on the spot. If you've already removed Loopr, use the form below. Either way it cannot be undone, so read the two notes first — one of them catches most people out.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Loopr Pro subscription or free trial. Loopr Pro is billed by Apple, or by Google Play if you subscribed on Android, not by us, and only you can cancel it: on your iPhone or iPad, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, the Play Store's Subscriptions page; or, on either, Manage subscription on Loopr's Account screen. A trial you don't cancel becomes a paid subscription when it ends. Cancel first, then delete.
If you only want your saved routes gone, you don't need to delete anything else — Settings → Data → Clear saved routes in the app does that on the spot (in your account too, if you're signed in), and your account stays.
Delete it in the app
If Loopr is still on your phone, this is the quickest way, and it doesn't go through us at all:
- Open Settings — the gear on the map — and tap your account at the top.
- Tap Delete account, and confirm.
- Sign in with Apple or Google once more, with the account you're deleting. That proves it's you, so you need a connection.
Loopr then deletes everything listed below straight away — there's no waiting period and nothing to confirm by email. It also revokes its access to your Apple or Google sign-in, and erases what it stored on that phone, photos included, with the exceptions described below. If Loopr can't reach RevenueCat, the request to remove your email address and name there may not arrive; write to privacy@apploopr.com and we'll remove them.
Using Loopr without an account? Your routes and places live only on the phone, so there's no account to delete. The same screen offers Delete local data instead, which erases the routes, saved places, preferences and photos Loopr has stored on that phone, apart from the few things the privacy policy lists — from version 1.44, among them your Share usage data choice and the usage reports recorded on the phone.
Signing out is not deleting: it leaves your data in your account and on the phone.
No longer have the app? Request deletion here
This form is for anyone who has removed Loopr, or can't sign in to it any more. Send it from any address you like, but give us the email on the account itself — it's how we find the right record, and we'll write back to it to confirm the request came from you.
What happens after you send the form
- We email the address you gave us, within two business days, asking you to confirm. This step exists so that nobody can delete your account by typing your address into this form.
- You reply. The deletion runs within 30 days of that reply, and in practice much sooner.
- We email you once it's done. From then on the account and everything in it are gone: if you come back to Loopr, you start from scratch.
Change your mind before you confirm and you need do nothing at all: an unconfirmed request expires and the account is left alone. Simply write to privacy@apploopr.com if you'd rather say so explicitly.
What gets deleted
Whichever way you do it, deleting the account removes:
- The account itself — the sign-in record and your profile: the identifier from Apple or Google, your email address, your name and profile photo link where the provider shared them, and which provider you used.
- Your email address and name at RevenueCat — the copy Loopr gives RevenueCat, the service that checks purchases for Loopr, so that we can find your subscription when you write to us. The purchase record itself stays; see below.
- Your saved routes — names, stops, addresses, coordinates, package counts and stop notes.
- Your saved places — the names you gave them, their addresses and coordinates.
- Your current plan — the route in the planner as last synced, with its progress, its starting point (which may be where you were) and its stops' notes.
- Your preferences — units, navigation app, map style, language and the rest of Settings, and your Route settings.
- Deletion records — the IDs and dates Loopr keeps so that routes and places you deleted don't come back.
- What's on the phone — deleting in the app also erases what Loopr stored on that phone, stop photos included, apart from the few things the privacy policy lists; from version 1.44, among them your Share usage data choice and the usage reports recorded on the phone, which are cleared of anything older than 7 days only when Loopr runs, so if you stop opening it they can stay until you uninstall it. Photos are never uploaded, so there are none in the account; removing the app removes them, though an iCloud or computer backup of the phone made earlier may still contain them.
What deletion doesn't remove
- Your subscription or free trial. A subscription keeps renewing until you cancel it in the store you bought it in (the App Store, or Google Play on Android), a trial becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel it there, and refunds are that store's to grant. The store keeps its record of the purchase, and so does RevenueCat, against your account's ID but no longer with your email address or name. You can ask us to delete the RevenueCat record by writing to privacy@apploopr.com.
- Copies on another phone. A second phone that was signed in to the account keeps its copy until you remove Loopr from it, though it can no longer sync. Opening Loopr there can give RevenueCat your email address and name again.
- Your Apple or Google account, and the records Apple or Google keep about your use of their sign-in.
- Messages, service logs and usage reports — emails and form requests you've sent us (this one included: it's our record that we carried it out), the ordinary request logs kept by the services Loopr uses, and, from version 1.44, the usage reports already sent to Expo, which are kept under a random ID for the phone rather than your account and expire on their own within about four months. See the privacy policy.
Prefer to email?
This form is a convenience, not the only route. Write to privacy@apploopr.com, tell us the email on the account and say what you want deleted — it reaches the same person and is handled the same way.
